Who We Are

We are an association of Reformed, Baptist, Churches united by a common confession.

Our Doctrine

Our History

The Confessional Baptists of the Southwest grew out of conversations among several pastors in Arizona in the early 2010s concerning the need for a regional association of like-minded churches. These discussions centered on a shared commitment to the historic Baptist faith as expressed in the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689, along with a desire for greater fellowship, mutual encouragement, and accountability among the churches.

In 2016, the association was formally organized, and the churches continued to labor together for several years. After a period of inactivity, the association was renewed in 2024 with a desire to build upon its previous foundation and strengthen fellowship among confessional Baptist churches. While all of our churches are currently located in Arizona, we desire to see the association expand throughout the broader Southwest as God provides opportunities for like-minded churches to join us.

We seek to cultivate this communion through regular fellowship and shared ministry. The association holds quarterly elder fraternals for prayer, fellowship, mutual encouragement, and discussion; an annual joint service in which our churches gather for worship; and various activities for the members of our churches, including family camp and other opportunities for fellowship. Through these gatherings, we seek to strengthen the bonds between our churches and promote the mutual care, accountability, and edification that ought to characterize the communion of Christ’s churches.
